The colours for 2020 are impactful. Neo mint will refresh many interiors whilst pink accentuated with green will also feature prominently. Blue, an eternal classic is still strong and multiple tones of red will emerge. Colour pop sees explosions of colour which contrasts with warming neutrals and sophisticated retro colours.
Patterns for 2020 are set to take an interesting and intrepid turn. They appeal to the explorer in you with bold patterns of sumtuous fauna and flora. Marble, a perennial favourite, is weighted towards monochrome varieties with striking veining. Expect to see plenty of parallel lines in evidence, from wide striped wallpapers to vertical patterns in furnishings.
So what shapes will land in 2020? You'll see a distinct softening in the feel of interiors with voluptuous padded shapes, especially in furnishings. From curvaceous, plump sofas and chairs, to plenty of large, simple round motifs. To completely offset this, there will also be a prevalance in linear styles. Modern, challenging and angular shaped furniture and lighting sit in spaces with planes of diagonal lines and geometric patterns.
The styles for next year are already set. The bold patterns of vegetation and wildlife will bring the outside in, uniting us and strengtheing our bond with nature. Natural textures will also reinforce this connection but in a subtler more earthy style. Finally, mid-century retro influenced sideboards, soft furnishings, carpets, mirrors and lighting will also shine.
